As we continue to monitor the spread of COVID-19 (coronavirus), the health and safety of our policy holders and staff is our top priority. This temporary closure affects SEFCU Insurance Agency offices ONLY.
During this time of uncertainty, you can rest assured knowing that SEFCU Insurance Agency will continue to meet the needs of our customers. Agents are available by phone as well as email to service your policies, offer quotes, and answer any of your questions. We will not be staffing our offices or accepting premium payments in person.
Homeowners insurance protects more than just the building. It provides coverage against theft, damage, and protects you from personal liability. And because every home and living situation is different, it’s important to review your needs with an experienced agent to ensure you’re properly covered. Whether you rent, live in a condo, own a high-value home, or own a rental property, we can help you build a comprehensive policy tailored to your needs.
Homeowners Insurance Highlights:
Your home should be insured for an amount based on the replacement cost of your property. Replacement cost is what it would cost today to rebuild your house in the event of a loss and based on current building codes. There usually is a deductible, which is an amount you would be responsible for before the policy begins to pay out.
Personal property policies automatically provide a separate amount to cover your personal belongings, however there is a deductible. We suggest that our clients create a home inventory. In the event of a claim it will make it easier to document your loss and ensure a smooth claims process.
Personal Liability takes effect if you are legally responsible for an injury to a visitor in your home or for damage you cause to another person’s property.
Other structures such as sheds, garages, and fences are included under your basic coverage. There are specific limits on the amount of coverage available for these types of detached structures depending on the amount of coverage for the home itself.
Loss of use of home means if your home were to become uninhabitable, your policy can provide valuable benefits to help with additional living expenses.
